Utica Post 229 captured the District 5 Championship by going undefeated in the District playoffs but didn’t fare as well in the New York State Championship Tournament where they went 0-3.   Game 1 saw Rockland County throw a shutout, winning 8-0.  In game 2 Utica’s late inning rally wasn’t enough, losing to Maine Endwell 9-7.  Game 3 Utica jumped out to a 4 run lead in the first inning but fell to the eventual runner up Saratoga Stampede 8-4.

Utica Post finished the season with an overall record of 22-8.  This was the first District Title for Utica Post since 2010, and the first under head coach Vic Castronovo.
