Utica Post 229 was handed its first loss of the season 4-1 in the first game of the Father’s Day doubleheader. John Napoli went the distance allowing only two earned runs while scattering five hits. Ryan Piccola had the only RBI on the day with a single in the seventh. Connor Roth and Jordan Treen doubled and Brett George and Nick Bruzzese added basehits.

All of the Dads went home happy after watching UP take the second game 4-2.. Brett George pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts while allowing four hits.  John Napoli had two RBI’s, Mike Krecidlo had two hits and Jordan Treen reached base three times.

Herkimer got there revenge today as they traveled to Murnane and went home with a 12-8 win. Utica was sloppy in the field today and gave away several runs. Jordan Treen, John Napoli, Edwin Haddad, Matt Haddad and Brett George each had a hit. UP’s record now stands at 6-2. They travel to Rochester on Saturday to take Rayson-Miller in a doubleheader.
