Ilion scored a run in the 1st inning on a triple by Jamie Barr, then scored 3 in the 3rd on a home run by Dillon Hassett.  Utica finally got on the board in the 5th inning with a 2 run double by Vin Gaetano and an RBI ground out by Mike Obernesser.  Ilion then added 2 in the 7th on a RBI single by Dan Crim and an error allowed Dillon Hassett to score the eventual winning run.

Utica battled back as they trailed the entire game. In the 8th Utica got an uneanred run to cut the deficit to 6-4.  Then in the 9th Vin Gaetano reached on an error and was driven in with an RBI triple by Gary McConnell.  With the tying run on 3rd Utica attempted a suicide squeeze, but the bunt was fielded cleanly and McConnell was thrown out at the plate.

Ryan Alesandro went the distance on the mound for Utica, striking out 8.  Ilion started Jamie Barr was relieved by Joe Gantz, who then gave way to John LeClair.

Utica plays New Hartford Friday at 3PM in an elimination game.

Ilion plays Whitestown Friday at 7PM.
